Workers Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for the Labor Movement. Sadly, this year has special significance for CWA as we have lost members because of workplace fatalities. Please keep these losses in mind when going about your day, and as we remember those who have been killed and hurt on the job, we will also need to be vigilant in making sure workplace safety and health protections are in place. Too many job hazards including overwork, long hours of work, and requirements for emergency alert equipment remain unregulated and uncontrolled, resulting in the continued occurrence of injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.
