Labor Day - Working for a Better Life

During this celebratory Labor  Day weekend,  please take a moment  from your picnics and barbecues to  remember the achievements of the  working people who built our nation.  The accomplishments of the working people are what make this country run.   As working people, it is up to us to look at what is good for our families and our communities and get involved to make sure  that public policies do not diminish the rights and privileges that others have fought so hard to preserve.   We deserve a good living and all too often, those working every day for a better life are forced to take a back seat to corporate interests which care only about their own bottom line. This Labor Day should be a celebration of working families, because we are ready to speak up together, change the rules and bring lasting economic balance so that every family can pursue the American Dream and work for a better life. While the day honors the hardworking women and men who make this nation go and grow, the weekend also gives us a chance for one more big backyard barbecue blowout.
