As was previously announced and promised in  AT&T and Frontier communications,  Frontier has agreed to honor our collective bargaining agreement.  They have verbally notified the union that they are familiar with our SPD’s (Summary Plan Descriptions) regarding healthcare and pensions and will abide by the rules of those plans.  We will be having more conversations with both AT&T and Frontier in the upcoming weeks during effects bargaining so we can formalize all agreements.  Many have asked what is effect bargaining.   According to the NLRB when business decisions are made, the union can request bargaining over the effects that those  decisions have on the employees.   In addition to formalizing what has been promised, the union has many other details to iron it that are not in the collective bargaining agreement.    In the meantime, our attorneys are working on a list questions to pose at the PURA, where we hope to formally gain access to more information regarding the terms of this sale.    The Attorney General and CWA have filed a petition to intervene last week  click here for latest status on docket 14-01-46.
