Cwa Local 1298 was joined by District 1 Assistant to the Vice President, Dennis Trainor, on our first  face to face meeting with Frontier Leadership.     During this meeting, the company reiterated  some of the same messages  that were shared on yesterday's conference call.   In addition, Frontier shared their philosophy as an employer as well as a service provider. Frontier shared information with the union about its leadership style, which was reminiscent of an employee relations and customer focused style. Some key issues discussed: Current level of Benefits will be honored.  Current Retirees will stay with AT&T. CWA and IBEW represents Frontier Communications members throughout the 27 state footprint. Any employees on disability with AT&T will continue on disability with AT&T until such time as they return to work as an active employee for Frontier. This is not the first time this Union has been confronted with an acquisition by a company. Therefore, we are reserving judgment regarding our position at this time and will evaluate the situation to confirm whether we believe it will be beneficial to our members. We will share this with our members when confirmed.   Lastly, we realize that many members are being told that their department is not affected by this acquisition.  It has been explained that approximately 200-300 employees will not be part of the acquisition, and the union is currently trying to get verification of which titles are involved and will share that information as soon as we have it.
