Funeral Services were held on Friday August 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington with the Rev. Andrew Eiss officiated. Burial was in the West Meadow Cemetery.

Troy  died peacefully on Tuesday (August 24, 2010), surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Cathi (Giantonio) Casazza for 16 years. Troy lived in Meriden before moving to East Berlin 11 years ago.  Troy retired in 2009 from At&t for 25 years and was a member of the Fellowship Church in Middletown. Troy loved to play pool in area leagues, but his true passion was the game of golf. He was involved in many local golf leagues and was a proud defending champion of the CT Telso League at Lyman Orchards Golf Club. A loving and devoted father, he leaves his daughter Christy Knowles and her husband Kyle of Newington, his mother-in-law Lucille Giantonio of Newington, his father-in-law William Giantonio of Glastonbury, his sister-in-law Lori Vogel and her husband Rod of Cumberland, ME, and his brother-in-law Thomas Giantonio and his wife Patsy of Newington. He also leaves his aunt Kimberly Silver of Melbourne, FL, his uncles Joseph Carey and his wife Elaine of Glastonbury and Dean Silver and his wife Bethany of Georgia, his grandmother Maury Silver of Melbourne, FL, and four special nieces and nephews, Tucker and Tessa Vogel and Emily and Garrett Giantonio and many cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Joseph Silver and his aunt Donna Witherell.
