Lawrence Ritchie Cassells, 85, of Bolton, CT best friend and beloved husband of Marion (Lindy) Cassells passed peacefully into the hands of the lord on June 29th, 2022. He was born and raised in Manchester to the late Clarence Cassells and Annie Tedford Cassells. After graduating from Manchester High School he proudly served in the United States Air Force. He graduated from the University of Hartford with an Associates Degree. He worked for SNET for 30 years. He was a member of Nutmeg State FCU as well as a proud board member where he served as a director for a number of years and was highly praised for his commitment and contributions during all of his employment.
He was an avid gardener, creating beautiful gardens and landscaping at his home. He also had a passion for cooking as he created masterful dishes for all to enjoy. He enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod and Lake George. He was an avid fan of Connecticut Public Broadcasting, watching endless cooking, gardening, travel and This Old House shows.
Besides his wife he is survived by his four children, Travis Cassells of Manchester, CT; Holly Dillon of Branford, CT; Wade Cassells and his wife Michele Cassells of Glastonbury, CT; and Annie Balcastro and her husband Vincienzo Balcastro of Cheshire, CT. He is also survived by 8 beloved grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be private, for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the Bolton Volunteer Fire Department, or to St. Mary's church in Manchester, CT.
