On March 15th AT&T Mobility management formally announced a surplus of 3 MSC/RNOC technicians in the work locations of Burlington MA and Cambridge MA. The company plans to close the Burlington MA Switch and move the remaining CWA members to the Cambridge MA switch location. The company gave a date of April 15th, 2021 to complete the announced surplus. The Company notified the union that they will follow Article 14 in the 2017 Orange bargaining agreement. After the first conference call with the company, we have concerns related to the company's application of the surplus language in Article 14 of the 2017 Orange contract. We will be having further discussions related to the surplus process outlined in Article 14.This is another example of corporate greed as AT&T continues to cut jobs after receiving billions of dollars in tax relief.
