April 4, 2018 50 years ago today, the greatest advocate and leader in the fight for civil rights, social justice and economic equality was taken from this world in a hateful act. Today, in 2018 we are still faced with very same issues. Activists carried out and carried on Dr. King’s message and still do so today. So I ask each and every member to reflect on this day, the work that was done by others before us and the need to continue the fight for these basic rights that are still under attack 50 years later. Get engaged. Get engaged in your community, your local politics and your union.  Together, as a united front we can make a difference taking on corporate America.
