As everyone is aware, CWA gave notice to AT&T yesterday that we must reach an agreement to a fair contract by 3pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 or we will strike. After over one (1) year of bargaining, the company's proposal is still retrogressive. The wage and benefit packages presented by the company results in their employees, our members, being worse off economically anywhere from $1700.00 to $2700.00 dollars over the life of the contract depending on their title. It is shameful for a company that makes billions of dollars in profit to take more money out of their employees pockets while stuffing their own. The union is hopeful after todays discussions that AT&T will recognize the contributions of their employees, our members, and reward them. We passed a very fair proposal today which recognizes the needs AT&T states they need to have in order to stay competitive while still protecting our members wages and benefits. We have recessed bargaining while the company evaluates our latest proposal and are tentatively scheduled to reconvene later today. Please remain ready to take action if needed in our fight for a fair and just contract. In solidarity, Your bargaining team
