Loving Wife and Mother
Mrs. Georgette (Peters) Haddad, age 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the devoted wife of George Robert Haddad, mother to Charles George Haddad and mother-in-law to a very special person, Sally Dytko Haddad.
Mrs. Haddad was born on December 2, 1928, in Torrington, eldest daughter of the late George and Christine (DiDominic) Peters. Georgette lived her teenage years in New Britain and graduated from New Britain High School. She worked as a telephone operator with AT&T for 46 years, where she worked with the most manual to the latest electronic equipment and was a member of the SNET Pioneers Club.
In addition to George, her husband of 64 years, and her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sally of Berlin, Georgette is survived by her brothers, Donald Peters and his wife Louise of New Britain and Robert Peters and his wife Patricia of Berlin. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly. Georgette is predeceased by her sister Beatrice Grem and her husband William Grem and their son Jeffrey Grem, her twin sister Molly D’Angelo and her husband Ralph D’Angelo and their sons David and Michael D’Angelo: her brother George Peters and his wife Charlotte.
Special gratitude to so many who extended their love, prayers, help, assistance and compassion to Georgette. The Haddad family will forever be grateful to so many wonderful people: her lifelong friend Selma Haddad, her brother-in-law, Fred Haddad, Julie Haddad Brevetti, Mim Moore, Phyllis Keach and her grandson Jack, Kim Jensen, and Monteiro’s Restaurant in Town Plot for always providing a home-cooked meal for George and Georgette.
The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and entire staff of Saint Mary’s Hospital who provided loving care until she was called Home by the Lord. In addition, they are so grateful for their dear private duty friends who spent long hours watching and extending compassion to Georgette.
