A Message from President Dave Weidlich

Below is a message I am sharing from our National CWA President and Secretary-Treasurer. I felt it was important this year for us to focus on our CWA members desperate for assistance. I am hopeful that our Local 1298 members will find the generosity to help our CWA family members on strike in Pittsburgh.

In Solidarity, Dave

A Holiday Message from National CWA President and Secretary-Treasurer

It is said that the greatest way to give thanks is to help someone else in need. To that end, our members who have been on strike against the Pittsburgh Post Gazette for more than a year could really use your help to also have a happy holiday season. CWA will be supplying every striker with a gift card from a union supermarket to purchase a holiday meal and other essentials.

In order for us to show solidarity with all these brave members and their families, we are asking all locals to ask their members for a small donation to cover meals or provide some holiday cheer. We are also collecting personal written or video messages of support to boost their spirits. Click the link below to see how you can help!

If you wish to contribute via check, it should be made out to “Pittsburgh Striker Fund” and should clearly state “2023 Holiday Fund” in the memo section. Checks should be mailed to:

Here's to a safe and happy holiday season to all!
