Today, we honor Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the United States learned of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a day to reflect on the struggles, sacrifices, and resilience that have shaped our nation’s ongoing journey toward justice and equality.
As Union members, we know that freedom is not just given—it’s fought for. The spirit of Juneteenth calls us to stand together, lift each other up, and continue working toward a future where dignity, fairness, and opportunity are rights enjoyed by all.
Let us use this day to honor the past, recognize the progress made, and recommit ourselves to building a more inclusive and equitable workplace and world.
