CWA Local 1298 met with District 1 Assistant to the Vice President, Dennis Trainor, Attorney Scott Rubin, and Randy Barber, President of the Center for Economic Organizing today to discuss the latest developments regarding the acquisition of AT&T by Frontier.  The union is very frustrated with the  lack of information provided by both  Frontier and AT&T.  The latest information shared by Frontier regarding benefits and healthcare, included high level presentations but they continue to avoid having discussions of any substance which is what the union needs. We are waiting on meeting dates from Frontier to discuss jobs, staffing and how Frontier will transition our members into those jobs at Frontier. Frontier is waiting on information from AT&T regarding the workforce. Frontier believes they need this information from AT&T to have productive discussions with the Union. Your Union needs this information.  Both AT&T and Frontier have become masters at delay, and this delay in providing information is cause for concern, which forces us to take the position of opposition at this time. We are planning a Lobby Day to be held April 30, 2014 where CWA Local 1298 Political Activist will be meeting with their appropriate representatives about the issues at hand. The Executive Board is also scheduled to attend the CWA Legislative Political Conference in Washington, May 5-9. We are scheduled to meet with our legislative leaders and we will use that time to discuss these delays with your representatives.    May 9, 2014 is the deadline at the Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA) for written testimony. .If we do not have the information we need before that date, then we will let PURA know about these delays in our written testimony.
