CWA Local 1298 Executive Board members, and business agents and District 1 staff representative Tonya Moore, met with Frontier Communications representatives Jim Oddo, John Nasznic and Lynn Keane yesterday to discuss and identify problems with the transfer bureau process.  CWA Local 1298 reviewed the 2012 letter of agreement that was bargained with AT&T and identified where Frontier was not meeting its obligation in fulfilling the intent of that agreement.    In the spirit of the agreement, Frontier has identified that they have implemented an “Agent Feature” intended to be the transfer system that will allow members to build a profile based on jobs they are interested in applying for. This feature is supposed to email the members when a job that fits their profile becomes available. The union explained that the feature is not working properly and Frontier has promised to review and correct and meet again with the union. The union also identified the need for a job description database similar to the BURRS. Lastly, the union  requested that Frontier use a bargaining unit person that will help members and answer questions regarding the transfer process.  We await another meeting with Frontier in hopes that the issues at hand will be resolved.   As a reminder to members,   Frontier does not keep our transfers on file after a job has been filled, therefore it is necessary to apply for the job each time it becomes available within the timeframe allotted.
