It should come as no surprise to any of us that Frontier is being investigated for customer service and reliability issues. We all know and have witnessed these issues. What is a surprise is that this is announced as Frontier is nearing a bankruptcy filing. Every single elected leader and other government authorities have know about these issues since Frontier acquired the SNET Connecticut property from AT&T. The issues around service and reliability should have been addressed long ago. We as employees have been pressing Frontier to get their act together and deal with front end calls for service and billing issues. We have been pleading with the company to invest in our robust fiber network. They have not responded to our concerns. To make matters even more difficult for Frontier, elected leaders and government authorities have been changing and making rules for competition to overrun Frontier's ability to invest in these services. This hinders Frontiers ability to make the changes necessary to be a leading internet provider in the State of Connecticut. Frontier is required to perform work to "make ready" facilities to allow other providers to overlay our network and compete at a completely unfair advantage. There are additional costs associated with preparing for these competitors to provide their services. Our elected officials should be focusing on how a Frontier bankruptcy impacts the State of Connecticut and our jobs. They should be looking at the impact a bankruptcy may have on Frontier's customers.

I am also contacting the local news media to provide this message as well as further details from the unions perspective on why Frontier is in this situation. The union, and its members, have tried from the beginning to help Frontier but they have not listened to us!

CWA, both locally and at the national level, are doing everything in our power to protect our members during this unprecedented pandemic as well as the looming bankruptcy at Frontier. We will continue to provide information as it becomes available.
