Lori Lynn (Wininger) Canova
Lori Lynn (Wininger) Canova passed away on September 22, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Lori was born on December 19, 1965 in New London Connecticut, the daughter of Alberta (Button) Wininger and the late Edward M. Wininger. She was raised in Westbrook, graduated from Westbrook Jr./Sr. High School and Gateway Community College. She was employed by SNET, and AT&T. She was a 20 year member of the Westbrook Chemical Engine Company No. 1 Inc. Auxiliary. Lori is survived by her son Benjamin R. Canova, her mother Alberta (Button) Wininger, her brother Christopher B. Wininger and his wife Catherine (Powell) Wininger, her nephew James M. Wininger, her niece Elizabeth L. Wininger, and her uncle Brian W. Wininger and his wife Maureen Wininger, her cousins Carrie Anzidei and husband Marcus, their daughters Katie and Emma, Julie Spaulding and her son Collin, and her former husband Matthew B. Canova. She was predeceased by her father Edward M. Wininger.. Instead of flowers Lori asked that donations be sent to: David's Strength, c/o First Niagara Bank, 1238 Boston Post Road, Westbrook, CT 06498. Lori stated "David Adamiec, is a friend, the husband to a young wife and the father of a young son. He is also a returning veteran who fought for our country and is now fighting Post Traumatic Stress and is unable to work. His family has been there for me even with their son being so ill. Time to pay it forward. I would like this to be the last wish to help the people who stood by me till the end."
