John Wynne Obituary

John T. Wynne III, 71, of Wallingford, died on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Gaylord Hospital. He was the loving husband of Kathleen (Poppendick) Wynne. Jack was born in New Haven, September 22, 1954, a son of the late John T. Wynne Jr. and Mary (Shannon) Wynne. He graduated from East Haven High School in 1972 and went on to work for SNET and AT&T for 40 years. He enjoyed memorabilia shows and was an avid fan of the N. Y. Yankees and Jets. Jack volunteered for the Special Olympics and the Pioneers Organization. He loved his Shiba Inus, Asia, Samurai, China and Carter. In addition to his wife Kathe, he will be missed by his sister, Mary (Mrs. James) Raymond; his brother, Matt Wynne Sr.; his in-laws, Ernie and Karen Cipolli, and Bob and Donna Poppendieck; his nephews, John Wynne, John Cipolli (Val), and Matt Wynne Jr.; his nieces, Lauren Cusano (Eric), Katie Cipolli, Christina Raymond, Erin Raymond, Alicia Ortiz (Moe), Taylor Wynne, and Brianna Rescigno; and several great nieces and great nephews, especially, Jay and Violet Cipolli. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his son, Brian John Wynne; his brother and sister-in-law, Hugh "Bert" and Kim (Bredenberg) Wynne; his sister, Elizabeth Rescigno; and his nephew, Ernesto "Rocky" Cipolli III. Jack's family would like to extend a special thanks to all the nurses, CNA's and care planners for all the love and support they gave while he was at Gaylord Hospital. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 8:30am to 10:15am when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Rd, Yalesville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am.
