Edwin C. "Ed" "Eddie" Raggio, 65, of Windsor Locks, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 28th 2015. Born in Connecticut to the late Ernest J. and Margaret (Giacopassi) Raggio, he was a longtime Connecticut resident. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Maryellen "Meg" (Quinn) Raggio of Granby, CT. Ed was a 1967 graduate of Windsor Locks High School and then went on to graduate from the Ward College of Technology. Ed was employed with AT&T, formerly SNET, retiring in 2011 after 41 years of service. He was an avid boater for over 25 years and was a car enthusiast, restoring a Model A and an antique racecar. He had a passion for corvettes, owning several over the years and was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed traveling, especially to his favorite spot in Key West, FL and was an active member of the Elks and the Hartford Gun Club. Ed was also a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick. To know Ed was a complete joy ride. When riding in his corvette, you could not take that smile away. The joy of Ed was sharing in his life. He had many longtime friends and there was not a soul he would turn away. Ed instantly became friends with those he met in line at the store, on a cruise or even while out to a restaurant for dinner. He was always talking with people, and in turn, they became friends of Ed's. We hope as time passes, you remember Ed in these words: "As I walk across your heart and find my place to stay, nearer to you I will be and never go away". The family wishes to thank Dr. Jeffrey Kamradt and his staff and the Hartford Hospital Radiation Dept. for their wonderful care as well as the staff in the Oncology Unit, Conklin Building and the Meadowbrook Rehab Center. Finally, his family wishes to thank all the family and friends for their love and support during Ed's illness. Besides his loving wife Meg, he is survived by his brother, Philip Raggio and his wife Carol of Florissant, MO; his nieces, Susan Raggio and her husband Bill Millerski of Goleta, CA and Jennifer DeMaio and her husband Frank of Holyoke, MA; his nephews, Robert Raggio and his wife Leah of Ballwin, MO, David Pleau and his wife Diana of Panorama City, CA and Christopher Cook and his wife Sandy of Durham, NC; his sister-in-law, Kathlyn Cook and her husband Chet of Southwick and by his great-niece, Carli Duga of Agawam, MA.
