Funeral services for David will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 65 Southmayd Road, Waterbury, Conn. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow in New Calvary Cemetery Waterbury. Family and friends may visit with David's family on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Eastside Memorial, "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center," 1987 East Main St. at Southmayd Road, Waterbury.

WATERBURY — David W. Ogurick, age 61 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 13, 2015, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was the husband of Paula (Zasimovich) Ogurick.

David was born Feb. 9, 1954 in New Haven, Conn., the son of the late William and Anna (Campbell) Ogurick. He attended grammar school in New Haven and was a graduate of Wilcox Technical School in Meriden and worked as a service technician for SNET for the past 37 years.

He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War era, serving with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea.

David loved to spend time outdoors and enjoyed kayaking, hiking, fishing or just talking a walk along the beach in Cape Cod. He also loved to cook and looked forward to Sunday dinners with his family.
David was a staunch union member of CUTW/ CWA Local 1298  and was a steward for Plant Local 4 during the CUTW years. 
Besides his wife of 36 years, David is survived by his children, Scott Paul Ogurick and his girlfriend Jacklyn, Nicholas Anthony Ogurick and his wife Ashley Ann, Maren Kate Ogurick and her fiancée Jhakarl, all of Waterbury.

He also leaves his brothers, Richard Ogurick and his wife Ginny of Cheshire, Dennis Ogurick and his wife Joan of Meriden; as well as his grandchildren, Skyla Rae Ogurick-Mendez and Autumn Rain Stenson; in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
