On Memorial Day, we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom. Memorial Day began during or right after the Civil War (sources are unclear on the exact beginning of the remembrance) to honor those who had died fighting to reunite our nation. It has continued on to honor those that marched across Europe to defeat the Nazi's, those lost in Korea and Vietnam, and those lost in our most recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

While we usually remember our fallen brothers and sisters with a parade or by visiting a cemetery, this year's remembrance will be different. COVID-19 may have forced these events to be canceled, but it is important to remember these brave souls who gave up everything to protect those that they loved. Please take an extra moment this year to keep them in your thoughts and prayers and to say thank you for the sacrifice they made to save our country. God Bless the USA!
