Today we extended the contract expiration date with Frontier to May 31, 2025. Frontier has continued to ignore the concerns this Union has related to the use of contract labor and Frontier’s failure to invest in good Connecticut jobs. Frontier has slashed over 1000 jobs in CT over the last 10 years and over half of those jobs are now being outsourced to contractors. We also have made no headway on important departmental issues. We are committed to bargain as long as it takes to get a contract that addresses fair wages, affordable healthcare, maintaining pensions, our 401k plan and most importantly Job Security. Let’s all remember what Nick Jeffery said on his last Listen Live call. He was quick to thank us for being a major part of the successful turnaround at Frontier Communications, however, he is yet to show us his appreciation with a fair contract!
The company has asked to take a month off from meeting in CT so they can bargain with other CWA locals who are beyond expiration as well. We have scheduled bargaining to commence the first week of April.
Remember, when We fight, We win!
