Date of Passing

Floyd William Pellegrino, age 54, beloved husband of Pamela Perry Pellegrino of Ansonia, died peacefully on March 21, 2021, at Griffin Hospital.  Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of Ann Elizabeth Graham Pellegrino of Wallingford and the late Floyd S. Pellegrino.  Mr. Pellegrino began his long career in telecommunications with SNET in 1997 and continued his employment as a field service technician and troubleshooter throughout the corporate change overs, until his last position in customer service for Frontier Communications, to the time of his illness.  A great patriot and proud American, Mr. Pellegrino displayed “Old Glory” everywhere he could!  He was an avid sports fan, especially for Florida State University, The NY Yankees, and the NY Giants.  Skilled in the kitchen, Mr. Pellegrino could often be found whipping up meals or a batch of his famous shepherd’s pie.  He loved all animals and nothing will compare to the special bond with his wife, his love for his family and his grandchildren - the lights of his life!  In addition to his mother and wife of nearly 29 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Floyd R. (Victoria) Pellegrino of Bridgeport and Shannon Pellegrino of Ansonia; a brother, Patrick (Rita) Pellegrino of Hamden; and sister, Trisha Triplet of West Haven; and cherished grandchildren, Avion and Noah Pellegrino and Ariana Chiles, all of Ansonia and Amara Pellegrino of Bridgeport.  A Celebration of Floyd’s life will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 2, 2021 in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.  Interment will be private.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ansonia Animal Shelter, Division Street, Ansonia, CT 06401.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
