A Celebration of her life will be held at Pleasant Valley Community of Prayer and Praise, 20 Grove Ave., Groton, CT Monday at 11 AM with burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich. Bonita S. Giese March 15, 1952 - October 3, 2012 OAKDALE - Bonita S. Giese, 60, entered the arms of her personal Savior on Wednesday while at home. She was born on March 15, 1952 in Norwich, CT to the late Arthur and Irene (Shepherd) Vars. She attended Montville High School and was a member of Pleasant Valley Church. On December 6, 1997 she married Byron "Craig" Giese in Jupiter, FL. He survives her. They made their home in Oakdale. Bonnie enjoyed serving others. She took it upon herself to find every lost cat soul a comfortable home. She gave so much of herself by showing Jesus's love to others. Bonnie's kindness and love emanated from her beautiful smile every day. She touched many, many lives and will never be forgotten. In addition to her loving husband, Bonita is survived by her sons; Dennis Main and Kenneth Hvarre Jr., daughters; Sherri Rupe, Bethany Gregory, Hannah Hurst, and Ruth Hvarre, one brother; James Vars, one sister; Carole St. John, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother; Arthur Vars.
